During your first visit we will review of your health story, concerns and personal goals and complete a physical assessment. Which may include observation about your movements, postures, and breath. Sometimes an internal vaginal exam will be suggested to assess the health, strength, and coordination of the pelvic floor muscles and tissues through the vulva and vagina. This is not mandatory nor is it always necessary. But it's important to mention it to avoid surprise or discomfort.
Then we decide on a treatment approach best suited to meet your needs. Janelle will usually provide hands on treatment, education throughout the session, suggested behavioral strategies and a unique program to follow at home. Treatment may include gentle manual soft tissue therapy, abdominal therapy, cupping, energy work, breath work and functional movement.
*What is Abdominal Therapy? Abdominal therapy is a gentle hands on manual therapy approach working from the bottom of your breast bone to the top of the pubic bone. Abdominal Thearpy may improve symptoms of painful or irregular menstrual cycles, PMS, cysts and fibroids, scar tissue, displaced or prolapsed pelvic organs such as bladder or uterus, endometriosis, fertility challenges, menopausal symptoms, and digestive issues. Abdominal Therapy is offered as a supportive modality to enhance health and wellness, and is not meant as an entire approach to health care. If you have any serious medical conditions, please consult your health care provider first.
We will review progress and goals. Janelle will provide treatment and adjust home program as needed.
Janelle makes herself available between visits for support and guidance throughout your treatment duration.
